I was at a bar yesterday with my Swiftie-bestie Jeff, and it’s a bar I’m not entirely familiar with. The bartender was hella cool, very chatty and flirty and awesome. She said, in passing, “I don’t like Taylor Swift” and Jeff instantly looked at me and said “DON’T.” (Lol 😂) We had a brief chat about why she didn’t, and she brought up hating LWYMMD and not liking “pop-ish stuff” and I brushed my shoulder off, and played “Don’t Blame Me” on the jukebox and let it go. A little while later, she was bopping to a Selena Gomez song I played, so I playfully called her out on the “not liking pop” thing.
She then explained further that she felt Tay was shallow and boy-crazy and blah blah blah, and I said “but did you know that her latest album is all about fucking Karlie Kloss? I mean, not only Karlie fucking Kloss, but FUCKING Karlie Kloss” and she paused….and went “huh? Really?!” And I didn’t even give her a “Kaylor introduction” speech, I just said “listen to this song” and played “Dress” and after that she was like “okay……yeah, I dig it, I’m down with this”. And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is the future of Tay’s brand. @tree-paine please take note 😉
